Tea at Starbucks Coffee!? Yes!

Last weekend, I attended the 1st birthday celebration of my friend’s son, Kirk. We ate late lunch at Rack’s in the celebration of the baby’s birthday. After eating, we decided to chill out at the nearest mall from the said restaurant, which is The Podium. We browsed through the shops and we decided to chill for a moment at Starbucks.

I got the Iced Chai Tea Latte in Grande size, since I don’t drink coffee after 12:00. The crew are very entertaining and courteous to us! We sat the second floor for an hour long of chit chats. A best place to relax and chill with friends or if you’re all alone!

Interview with Kamelot’s Thomas Youngblood

The Facebook admin of the Power metal band, Kamelot recently held an interview with the band’s guitarist Thomas Youngblood for 10 minutes, talking about the upcoming European Silverthorn tour and a plan of making a Live DVD!

Interviewer: Hi Thomas! Thanks for taking the time to answer a few questions. You’ve just come back from a great tour in North America and you’re about to bring KAMELOT to Europe again, how are you guys feeling? That’s a very short break into a massive World Tour!

Thomas: Haha, well we are all feeling great. We have had a nice 3-4 week break and I think we are all ready for the last European Tour for SILVERTHORN. We can’t wait!

Interviewer: How successful was this North American tour and how was the crowd’s response compared to last year?

Thomas: I would say it was our most successful North American tour so far, which says a lot about our fans, new and old. It’s been incredibly inspiring and gives us lots of fuel to start thinking about the next CD.

Interviewer: Let’s talk about the very close European Tour. Any big setlist changes or surprises to expect? The addition of Don’t You Cry to the North American setlist was awesome! So beautifully interpreted.

Thomas: Thanks! I think we will do Don’t You Cry and add some songs that we have not played in a while. As well as the songs from SILVERTHORN that we did not play on the first European Tour. Of course we will be changing the set here and there, for example we play two shows in Switzerland and fans who travel to both will see some different songs played. Surprises here and there as well, I also expect to shoot some of the shows for an eventual DVD, so if you see a camera in your face then SCREEEEAAAMMMM!!!

Interviewer: Not to play the devil’s advocate, but many fans are complaining about the absence of Paris and London on that European tour list. Could you explain how you planned this whole Silverthorn World Tour, and maybe enlighten us on some issues we’re clueless about?

Thomas: Sure, well, it’s simple. We played Paris and London on the first tour, the promoters in those regions want to wait. We wanted to add even more shows in the UK, which we will do on the next album. Of course we love playing anywhere there are Kamelot fans, which so far has been almost all countries. We finally went to Australia, Taiwan, Korea and some new cities in the USA. China, Thailand, Indonesia, Dubai and other regions are being discussed now.

Interviewer: You talked about shooting a DVD/Blueray on this tour, can you tell us more about it now? Location, maybe- or locationS? All shows have been so great, it’s easy to imagine an intensive DVD made of Kamelot’s highest live moments.

Thomas: Yes, this has to happen. And we have been shooting footage here and there. We are still discussing the DVD option with the label, which will be a big part of the funding. We will be shooting some of the shows coming up as well. So there are still plans and options being offered for this.

Interviewer: One last question- and before asking it, thanks for picking such fantastic openers on this tour: Delain, Eklipse (whose performance has amazed everybody) and now ReVamp!! Can we expect Floor to step on stage with Kamelot for some songs, like Charlotte from Delain did it for Sacrimony in North America?

Thomas: Well, thanks again! We really try to make a cool package for the fans, so that the night is not just great but an event they will remember. Regarding collaborations live, I would say the fans in Cologne and somewhere in time will be the first to answer this, *wink wink*!!

Interviewer: Awesome, sounds like this tour will be a blast once again!! Thank you for the interview, and thanks to ALL Kamelot members for giving everything on stage and putting up such a great show each and every night. We envy all fans who will go to this tour!

Rock n’ Roll Industries Magazine interview with Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine

Rock N Roll Industries Magazine conducted an interview with MEGADETH frontman, Dave Mustaine recently in a video format. The video interview is posted below.

MEGADETH’s latest release, “Super Collider” was released in 4th of June and sold about 70,000 copies. The album features a guest appearance with vocalist David Draiman. The album also received a lot of criticisms from most of fans, calling it a “midtempo drudgery and familiar hard rock and NOT THRASH METAL..”. But other fans seemed to dig the new album by saying that the album is enough for a successor to “Thirteen”. Other critics noted that the album is more akin to “Risk” and “The World Needs a Hero” than other recent albums.

Metal Hammer interview with Emperor’s Ihsahn

Ihsahn (Vegard Sverre Tveitan) was interviewed by the “Metal Hammer” radio show on Team Rock Radio recently. His upcoming solo album “Das Seelenbrechen” is a total contrast to Ihsahn’s first 2 albums titled “After” and “Eremita”. The album showcases a primitive approach to his most esoteric influences and more avantgarde sound. The new album is said to be the “darkest” of his solo albums and more disturbing in a more artistic way.

Part of the interview is snapped below:
“Musically, this album is a very deliberate sidestep to what I have been doing; a necessity to reset the creative parameters so not to fall into formula, I think I do my best work slightly outside of my comfort zone and I’ve wanted to do something like this for a long time. Free form and improvisational can be scary for a musician but it is very liberating at the same time.”

“Of all my albums, my goals for this one have been the most abstract. I’ve had quite a rollercoaster ride putting it together but now that it is done I must say I am very pleased.”

“Das Seelenbrechen” takes its name from Nietzche‘s famed “Human, All Too Human: A Book Of Free Spirits”.

MAYAN talks about upcoming album “Antagonise”

Dutch metal band, MaYan fronted by Mark Jansen (of EPICA) together with Jack Driessen (ex-AFter Forever) and Frank Schiphorst will be releasing their second album on January 31, 2014, titled “Antagonise”. The new album was produced by Joost van der Broek, with guest appearances by Floor Jansen (Nightwish, ReVamp), Marcela Bovio (Stream of Passion) and the Greek violinist Dimitris Katsoulis.

The main theme of the album has been posted by the band on their Facebook account saying:
“It’s dealing with the current state of the world in which a small group of elites have all the power and try to dominate humanity. The tension is rising and the outcome yet unknown.”

Here’s Mark’s comments about the upcoming album:
“Stefan doesn’t need any directions; he reads the lyrics and comes up with a phenomenal piece of art. That’s why we love working with this guy!

“When Snowden revealed the information about the mass electronic surveillance data mining program called Prism, what quite some people already thought became a proven fact. We all have been spied on for many years and all our data has been backed up and safely stored. It can be used any time it’s needed. All of this in the name of ‘war against terrorism,’ which, in fact, basically is a cover-up and a way to bring fear to people in order to get them under control. This trick has already been used many times in the past. History just keeps repeating itself.

“The media were covering the story, but politicians around the world, and in Europe in particular, didn’t know how to react and remained silent. America is an ally, and not just a little one.

“Since it became clear that the NSA (and let’s not forget about their British partners in crime of the GCHQ) have also been spying on many world leaders, things have changed. Now it’s finally all over the news!

“Is this the beginning of a turning point in history? Or will we allow a small group of elites to take all our freedom away for their own benefits?

“The constitution, the basis of our democracy, is not being respected.

“Don’t get yourself fooled, this is not in our interest.

“If you want to see the truth, you’ll see the truth.

“We are what we eat!? A bunch of chickens, imprisoned and fully under control with no freedom whatsoever. This is what we will possibly become. If we let it all just happen…

“George Orwell, eat your heart out.”
