Gravity: A space travel went disastrous

Watched “Gravity” last night with friends at the Promenade Cinema which was equipped with the Dolby Atmos feature. What can I say about the movie? It’s definitely interesting and a must-see in my opinion.

Okay, the movie happened outside the living layers of Earth or let’s say by its making in a green background, but the story itself is great. Although I find it interesting if they show about 30 minutes of scenes while the space travelers were preparing for this mission in Earth. And then, Dr. Ryan (played by Sandra Bullock) is nervous and Kowalski (played by George Clooney) is plain relax and confident about this mission. At the same time, what went wrong when they’re already at space, right?

But hey, it’s really a thriller movie. I was even scared what would happen if Ryan didn’t make it to the Chinese station or if her only last ride home was damaged by the debris!? At the same time, I was quite sad that Kowalski didn’t make it alive back to Earth, although I wish Ryan was not really dreaming when he joins her on the ISS craft or whatever you call it (not an expert about it though. :D) So, it was definitely a good movie to watch and I can tell you, I nearly got afraid of having that dream of travelling on space.

OFFICIAL TRAILER:

“Humanity is just nasty and there’s no silver lining…”

Last night, I was bored at home. Totally booorrring.. until I realized, “Hey I have new bought DVDs that I haven’t watched since July, and I haven’t even watched all of them yet…”. And yes, so I picked one and chose to watch this film called the “Silver Linings Playbook”, led by Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence as the characters of their own.

The film is a love story with so many twists, not like the usual love story you would ever saw around. The casts have their bitter pasts, one of them is trying to move on and go on with her life; while the other one is stuck in the middle of nowhere of his past and still can’t go forward. The first minutes of the movie was okay while some parts in the middle were quite a little bit of “boring” for me, but it turned out very different when the casts have exchanged dialogues and started their conversations full of profanity and action. Well, it’s more realistic to be honest, and I liked it.

The highlights of the film? I would say, when Pat and Tiffany have finally get on along with each other and agreed to make the deal. Pat will help Tiffany with the dance and Tiffany will help Pat gave the letter to Pat’s ex-wife, Nikki. Also, when they performed the dance, it’s great and somehow funny on the other side. I was laughing out loud when both Pat and Tiffany got a score of 5, while most of their opponents scored higher than them, and they reacted like they’ve almost won. The opponents’ faces were like “ookay!?”, and the host even made a 10-minute break. LOL. Priceless moment!

The movie overall is not good. Sorry if I can’t write very decent movies review since I’m not good at it. But at least I finally made my first. Maybe I’ll get used to writing this and could write a bit more decent as I post more in the future.

Some remarkable quotes:
Pat: The only way you can beat my crazy was by doing something crazy yourself. Thank you. I love you. I knew it the minute I met you. I’m sorry it took so long for me to catch up. I just got stuck.

Pat Sr.: Let me tell you, I know you don’t want to listen to your father, I didn’t listen to mine, and I am telling you you gotta pay attention this time. When life reaches out at a moment like this it’s a sin if you don’t reach back, I’m telling you its a sin if you don’t reach back! It’ll haunt you the rest of your days like a curse. You’re facing a big challenge in your life right now at this very moment, right here. That girl loves you she really really loves you. I don’t know if Nicki ever did, but she sure as shit doesn’t right now. So don’t fuck this up.

Tiffany:
You know, for a while, I thought you were the best thing that ever happened to me. But now I’m starting to think you’re the worst.
Pat: Of course you do. Come on, let’s go dance.

Pat: You have poor social skills. You have a problem.
Tiffany: I have a problem? You say more inappropriate things than appropriate things.
